KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The Office of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN) has started study of four mega projects worth Rs 150 billion.
Private Freight Terminal and Bulk Handling Facilities to be built in Birgunj and Bhairahawa, Multi-modal Logistics Park in Biratnagar, Damak Clean Industrial Park in Jhapa and Birethanti-Muktinath Cable Car are among the projects in pipeline. The concerned developers of these projects submitted the Detailed Feasibility Study Reports (DFSR) to the IBN on Tuesday.

Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, the spokesperson of the IBN, said an evaluation committee of the board will carry out further study of the DFSR provided by the developers. “After the DFSRs of these projects receive approval from the IBN, the board will sign agreements with the concerned developers,” Mishra said.
According to the IBN, Flash Freight Logistics and International Cargo Terminal and Infrastructure Pvt Ltd is set to construct the freight terminal and bulk handling project. Similarly, CG Logistics Pvt Ltd has proposed to construct Multi-modal Logistics Park. Muktinath Darshan Pvt Ltd has proposed to invest Rs 51 billion to construct 80.16 kilometers long cable car to connect Birethati of Kaski district and Muktinath of Mustang district.
Likewise, Lhasa Economic and Technology Development Zone Jing-Ping Joint Creation Construction Project Development Co. Ltd and Damak Clean Industrial Park are jointly investing in construction of Damak Clean Industrial Park. In August 2019, the IBN had approved an investment worth US $586.1 million earmarked for the project, reads a press release issued by the board.
