The three-day elephant race is taking place on the playground belonging to Baghamara Community Forest.[break]
Twenty national and international participants are taking part in the event. Most of them have already arrived in Sauraha, said Narayan Bhatta, coordinator of elephant race competition and First Vice-President of Regional Hotel Association of Nepal, Chitwan.
He said 11 Nepali groups and three from the UK and one each from South Korea, Germany, Sri Lanka, France, China and Slovakia. The regional hotel association and Nepal Tourism Board are the organisers of the event.
