Yet another elephant found dead in Bardiya

The death of another elephant comes barely four days after an elephant, aged around 30 years, was found dead in a field in Khailar village, Thakurbaba Municipality-4, on Saturday.

BARDIYA, Feb 19: A male elephant was found dead in the Jharsalwa Community Forest of Thakurbaba Municipality-3, Bardiya, on Wednesday.  


Ram Kumar Chaudhary, Information Officer at the Division Forest Office, said that the male elephant found dead was estimated to be around 15 years old.

“It is estimated that the elephant found today died about five days ago,” Chaudhary said. “The measurement of the dead elephant is currently being conducted.”  


Information Officer Chaudhary further said that the cause of death will be revealed only after the postmortem report.
