Interactive fair to promote and celebrate women empowerment

An interactive fair was organized in Tundhikhel, Dhading Besi, to promote, and celebrate women empowerment on Saturday. According to the press statement released by Equal Access International on Tuesday, the program was organized in collaboration between Equal Access International, UN Women and Samudayik Sarathi.

Internal Affairs and Law Minister Shalikram Jamarkattel inaugurated the community fair organized to engage the community to start a dialogue on gender dynamics of the barriers that hinder economic empowerment of women and girls. Celebrities like Jitu Nepal, Niraj Nepal, Shivahari Paudyal, Sabita Rai and Melina Rai also participated in the program entertaining and mesmerizing the crowd while imparting messages related to the women's economic empowerment, gender parity, and necessity of women's participation in the development of the country as per the press statement. 


The program was organized under the 'Sahi Ho!' campaign, an advocacy campaign that was initiated to raise awareness, challenge barriers and highlight women's empowerment and gender equality issues at both national as well as local level. Various government organizations including the District Coordination Committee, District Administration Office, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Nepal Armed Police Force participated in the program showing solidarity towards the campaign.
