KATHMANDU, Feb 20: One person was arrested with 855 grams of gold from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday evening.
SSP Krishna Hari Sharma said that 35-year-old Sharif Ahmed Abdul Gafur, an Indian national, was arrested by the TIA Security Police Office along with the said gold in semi-solid form.
According to him, the gold was found during the inspection of Gafur, who arrived from Dubai, on Monday night. He came to Kathmandu on a Fly Dubai flight.
SSP Sharma added that Gafur has been handed over to the TIA customs office for further investigation and legal action.
