KATHMANDU, May 26: A woman has been arrested from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in possession of 70 grams of gold.
The arrested person is Maiya Budhathoki, 40, of Chandragiri Municipality-13. She was arrested by the airport police on Saturday afternoon.
A gold ring weighing about 70 grams was recovered from her, which she tried to illegally take away by evading customs. The police allege that she used passengers coming to Nepal from foreign countries to bring gold by evading customs.
She has been sent to the TIA Customs Office for further action.
