Indian docs steal Nepali's kidneys

KANCHANPUR, June 14: Doctors at a medical college in Lucknow, India, removed kidneys of a Nepali youth without his knowledge, leading to his premature death.



The youth identified as 32-year-old Raju Chaudhari of Mauriphanta, Krishnapur VDC-6 had gone to the Medical College Trauma Center in Lucknow, India with complaints of stomach ache. Chaudhari was referred to the Medical College by a doctor in Pilivit, India, on suspicion of cancer.



That Chaudhari´s kidneys had been extracted was known after conducting tests in Attariya when he was taken there for a check-up after he started rapidly losing weight and his bowels started swelling. While preparations were being made to take Chaudhari to Chitwan Medical College for kidney transplantation, he died on June 11.



According to Chaudhari´s widow, he was operated in India four months ago and the doctors did not even provided an operation report.
