Indian bus plunge: Rescue efforts underway, around 10-11 suspected dead

KATHMANDU, Aug 23:  Security personnel have started rescue efforts after an Indian-registered passenger bus plunged into the Marsyangdi River at Aaina Pahara, Anbu Khaireni-2, in Tanahun district.

KATHMANDU, Aug 23:  Security personnel have started rescue efforts after an Indian-registered passenger bus plunged into the Marsyangdi River at Aaina Pahara, Anbu Khaireni-2, in Tanahun district.


A team of Nepal Army, 45 APF (Armed Police Force) personnel including 10 divers led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)  Madhav Paudel from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School has already reached the accident site and is continuing the rescue operation. Similarly, 35 APF personnel from no 23 Battalion, Bhanu, Tanahun, are also involved in the rescue operation.

According to the preliminary estimates, some 10 to 11 dead bodies have been recovered.
