Marshyangdi bus accident: Indian embassy coordinates relief efforts

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The Indian Embassy has expressed condolences over the tragic accident involving an Indian passenger bus that fell into the Marsyangdi River. Following the incident, the embassy stated, "We are coordinating with the local administration in the relief and rescue efforts."

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The Indian Embassy has expressed condolences over the tragic accident involving an Indian passenger bus that fell into the Marsyangdi River. Following the incident, the embassy stated, "We are coordinating with the local administration in the relief and rescue efforts."


The bus, traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, fell from the road into the river at Aina Pahara in Anbu Khaireni, Tanahun district. It has been confirmed that there were about 40 Indian passengers on board.

Of the 31 passengers rescued from the accident site, at least 14 died. The injured are undergoing medical treatment at a local hospital.


The police have reported that the bus fell about 150 meters down from the road. Security personnel are currently deployed at the scene for rescue operations.
