KATHMANDU, August 14: Billionaire investor of India, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala passed away at the age of 62 on Sunday.
The Times of India, an Indian English-language daily newspaper and digital news media, reported that he was not keeping well for the past few days and breathed his last today in Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, presenting his condolences via Tweeter, wrote, “Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was indomitable. Full of life, witty and insightful, he leaves behind an indelible contribution to the financial world. He was also very passionate about India’s progress. His passing is saddening. My condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
Jhunjhunwala was an Indian stock trader and investor. He was considered so influential that the stocks he put his money into would become a multibagger. He also owned a stock trading firm called ‘RARE Enterprises’.
