Indian Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khadse arrives in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: India's Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, has arrived in Kathmandu to inquire about the health condition of Indian citizens injured in a tourist bus accident at Aaina Pahara, Anbu Khaireni Rural Municipality-4, Tanahun, on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: India's Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, has arrived in Kathmandu to inquire about the health condition of Indian citizens injured in a tourist bus accident at Aaina Pahara, Anbu Khaireni Rural Municipality-4, Tanahun, on Friday.


She has reached Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj to inquire about the condition of the injured, according to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.

Sixteen people injured in the accident are being treated at TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj after a passenger bus with the license plate UP 53 FT 7623, traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, fell 200 meters down into the Marshyangdi River. Twenty-seven people died in the accident.


The injured were airlifted to Kathmandu on Friday by a Nepal Army helicopter. According to the police, there were 43 passengers on the ill-fated bus.


Meanwhile, post-mortem examinations of those who lost their lives in the accident are being conducted at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan. Chitwan's Chief District Officer, Indradev Yadav, stated that the bodies will be sent to India after the examinations.
