Independent candidate elected Rukum East Province ‘A’

ROLPA, Nov 23: Surul Pun Magar, an independent candidate, has won in the provincial assembly ‘A’ of Rukum East. Pun defeated Tej Bahadur Oli of the CPN-Maoist Center, the candidate of the ruling coalition, by a margin of 533 votes.

ROLPA, Nov 23: Surul Pun Magar, an independent candidate, has won in the provincial assembly ‘A’ of Rukum East. Pun defeated Tej Bahadur Oli of the CPN-Maoist Center, the candidate of the ruling coalition, by a margin of 533 votes.

Independent candidate Pun got 4,465 votes while his nearest rival Oli got 3,932 votes. Oli is a Politburo member of the Maoist Center. He was earlier a member of the Lumbini Province Committee of the Maoist Center. Maoists took action against him after he filed an independent candidacy.
