The Nepal Electricity Authority has frequently been stating that the current load-shedding duration of daily six hours might be increased up to 16 hours during the winter.
Addressing a program in the capital, Minister Bogati argued that increase in electricity tariff would enable Nepal to import more electricity from India.
"We can import 100 megawatt of electricity from India, if we increase electricity tariff in the domestic market," Bogati said, adding that more electricity can also be generated from thermal and diesel plants.
