Local government in Kapilbastu announces public holiday for the inauguration of Ram temple in India

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Suddhodhan Rural Municipality of Kapilvastu has announced a public holiday on Monday coinciding with the inauguration of the newly-built Ram temple in Ayodhya, India.

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Suddhodhan Rural Municipality of Kapilvastu has announced a public holiday on Monday coinciding with the inauguration of the newly-built Ram temple in Ayodhya, India.

Chairman of the Rural Municipality, Kamlesha Sharan Chaudhary said that since Goddess Sita is the daughter of Nepal and Ram is the son-in-law, the local government decided to give a public holiday on the pious occasion. A notice issued by the rural municipality on Friday states that the rural municipality office, ward office, health institutions, and educational institutions will remain closed on Monday.


The municipality has also requested the general public not to slaughter livestock and animals and to avoid selling fish, meat, and alcohol on Monday.
