In six months, 470 foreigners came to Nepal on study visa

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: According to the Immigration Department, a total of 470 foreign students came to Nepal on study visas within six months until mid-January.


Nepal issues various types of visas, including tourist, relationship, marriage, worker, study, residential, press, and non-tourist visas, as well as professional visas.

Within the last three months, 209 people obtained study visas, while 887 people received professional visas, 1,376 people acquired kinship visas, and 285 people were granted spousal visas. Moreover, 552 individuals were issued worker visas, and only four people were given residential visas. Two people came to Nepal on press visas during this period.


During the same three-month period, the Immigration Department issued 7,552 tourist visas. Additionally, 610 non-resident visas were issued, and 3,951 trekking permits were granted by the department.
