KATHMANDU, April 7: A Czech Republic Visa Application Centre has been opened in Kathmandu by VFS Global, a visa provider agency, to better serve the residents of Nepal wishing to travel to the Central European country. Prior to this, applicants had to travel to New Delhi, India, to submit application for Czech Republic visa.
The facility was formally inaugurated on April 5 by Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, Milan Hovorka, and Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Nepal Vishnu Agarwal.

At the program Ambassador Hovorka said, “The decision to open the VFS Global centre in Kathmandu has been taken in order to ensure a bigger comfort for Nepalese visa applicants who had to travel all the way to the Embassy in Delhi to lodge their visa application before.”
The Czech Republic has been gaining popularity as a destination for travellers from Nepal. VFS Global has claimed that it received a 26% growth in 2018 compared to the previous year in the number of applicants for the visa of Czech Republic.
