KATHMANDU, June 29: On the occasion of Asar 15 (Paddy plantation Day) Minister Chakrapani Khanal, Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives planted paddy saplings where King Suddhodhan planted the field with golden plough.
A program organized by Lumbini Development Trust at the field infront of east gate of Kapilvastu Tilaurakot Palace was inaugurated by Minister Khanal.

It is believed that King Suddhodhan planted rice saplings many centuries ago with golden plough and started planting rice for the first time.
