KATHMANDU, Aug 7: The Rastriya Janata Party organized a rally against ongoing violence against women and children across the country. The number of rapes reported in the media has escalated over the past few weeks. Demanding the government ensure safety of women and children and timely justice for the victims and their families,  the party staged protest.

The rape and murder of Nirmala Panta, 13 of Bhimdutta municipality-2, Kanchanpur shocked the nation. Days after that, another girl was raped in Kavrepalanchowk. Yesterday, Nishan Khadka, 11 of Kadaghari was murdered after being kidnapped by two alleged kidnappers who were shot dead during a crossfire by the police.
