KATHMANDU, Sept 19: The 7th Constitution Day was celebrated by organizing various programs across the country today. On the occasion, President Bidya Devi Bhandari announced the importance of establishing equal access of all citizens to the services and facilities received from the state and to guarantee social security to the citizens.
Likewise, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba addressed the nation on the occasion of the event.
Speaking at an event organized at Tudikhel in the capital on Sunday, PM Deuba expressed his heartfelt condolences to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country. He also said that the promulgation of the constitution six years ago was a proud moment for Nepal, adding that the new constitution was a result of a long struggle and sacrifices by the Nepali people.
Leaders of various countries including prime ministers and ministers for foreign affairs of countries like Russia, USA, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Laos have extended their best wishes to the Nepali people on the occasion of the Constitution Day
