KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The Government of Nepal has decided to celebrate Constitution Day for three days featuring a range of creative programs. On Sunday morning, the meeting of the Constitution Day Main Celebrations Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, decided to celebrate the Constitution Day with grandeur.
The meeting decided to celebrate Constitution Day with various programs on September 19, 20 and 21. As part of the program, there will be a special dialogue, public awareness program, publication of Constitution Day special issue, interaction program, Dipawali and other programs on September 19.
Republic Day to be celebrated for three days
On September 20, a special Constitution Day ceremony will take place at Sainik Manch Tundikhel. Various monasteries, temples, religious and cultural organizations, educational institutions will join in celebrating Constitution Day by lighting lamps in the evening.
On September 21, there will be an awareness-raising program as well as lamp lighting and various programs will be held at the Nepali Embassy, Diplomatic Mission and Consulate in Nepal as well as outside the valley.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal emphasized that Constitution Day should not be limited to just an official government event but should be celebrated as a festival of the common people. He expressed the need to expand the program to be inclusive of the entire community's ownership.
