"I hereby pledge that I will leave no stone unturned to fulfill the party´s remaining tasks and goals," Dahal added.
Maoist leaders close to senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya---Netra Bikram Chand and Dev Gurung ---were also present at the meet. Dahal spoke of his late father with open admiration "He was so hard working that he used to plough the fields even in the night for the sake of our family."
Maoist leaders close to Baidya also praised Dahal´s father, terming him the real inspiration of the communist leader. They reiterated that the party must remain intact.
"I will try to keep our party and the nation as a whole intact as desired by our party comrades," Dahal said. Dahal further said that he would move ahead, sorting out the walls of discrimination within the party.

"Our party must remain intact for the sake of peace, constitution, progress and the prosperity of the country," he added.
All those who spoke at the meet asked Dahal to prove himself a leader of the nation. "If you really want to fulfill your father´s dream, you have to work hard to keep the party intact and play the role of a guardian to lead the nation," Maoist leader Amik Sherchan advised him.
Though he spoke of party unity at the function, he met party cadres close to him separately in the evening at Global Hotel.
Maoist leaders Dinanath Sharma, Barsaman Pun, Agni Sapkota, Maoist student leader Himal Sharma and Deputy Speaker Purna Kumari Subedi also paid tributes to the late Dahal senior.
Let’s live in peace and embrace diversity
