IGP Khanal vows to book Panta's murderer(s)

BARDIYA, Sept 7: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sarbendra Khanal today pledged to take action against the perpetrator(s) involved in the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta last month.

BARDIYA, Sept 7: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sarbendra Khanal today pledged to take action against the perpetrator(s) involved in the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta last month. 


"The criminal(s) would be booked. An expert team is undertaking investigations into the rape and murder case," said Khanal, talking to Rastriya Samachar Samiti.

Khanal reached the district to take part in the national campaign with the theme of 'Reduction Violence against Women and Human Rights Protection' beginning today from Bhimdattanagar. 

On the occasion, he expressed the confidence that the national campaign to be launched by Nepal Police in coordination with NHRC from today would help control crime. 


IG Khanal said, "We will move ahead coordinating with all social organisations including right activists and civil society. The Campaign will be helpful to ensure victims' access to justice." 

On Thursday evening, IG Khanal had met with family members of Nirmala Panta and also made onsite inspection of the incident site.  RSS
