During the meeting held at the Prime Minister´s official residence at Baluwataar, the HLPC representatives put queries about the matters that the government was going to take important decisions with long-term impact.
Matters relating to the preparations for the CA election scheduled for November 19, efforts being made for making the election successful, possible hurdles in conducting the election and ways for clearing such hurdles, among others, were discussed.
Besides, discussions were held about the efforts being made for addressing the issues raised by the opposing political parties in the context of joining the election.
The meeting focused on fulfilling the posts of ambassadors and permanent representatives lying vacant at the Nepali Embassy in India and Brazil, the United Nations and SAARC, said Committee coordinator Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar.
The meeting also held broad discussions about how to respond the constitutional, legal, and political questions raised in course of works executed by the Electoral Constituency Delineation Commission.
On the occasion, Chairman Regmi said although the government held discussions in principle about the issues of upgrading Tribhuvan International Airport in view of security, no decision was taken to this effect.
Setting up security check posts in Lumbini and Pashupatinagar was also the agenda of the meeting. During the meeting, Chairman Regmi was learnt to have urged the top political leaders to be active and serious towards holding the upcoming CA election in a free and fair atmosphere.
Holding dialogues with the agitating political parties and thereby convincing them to join the election was the top priority of his government, according to his press advisor Bimal Gautam.
