DOLAKHA, July 20: The anti-graft team deployed from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Friday evening arrested the chief of Irrigation Development Division(IDD) in Dolakha district and an engineer working in the same office with  huge bribes.


The anti-graft team arrested IDD chief Prakash Adhikari with Rs 13,38,000 bribe and Bhogendra Shah, an engineer at the IDD with Rs 1,30,000, according to Pradip Kumar Koirala, the spokesperson at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

Acting on a tip-off, the team apprehended the duo at Sukute in Sindhupalchowk district with huge bribes on Friday evening while they were going to Kathmandu from Dolakha, CIAA spokesperson Koirala informed.


They had accepted huge bribes as a commission from the contractor and the consumer committee, according to the CIAA’s preliminary investigation .
