ICC Women’s World Cup: India and Pakistan to face off today

In the opening match of the Women’s World Cup, India defeated Sri Lanka by 59 runs using the DLS method and made a winning start.

KATHMANDU, Oct 5:  India and Pakistan are set to face each other today in the ICC Women’s World Cup.



The match will take place on Sunday at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka. According to Nepali time, the match will begin at 3:15 PM.

In the opening match of the Women’s World Cup, India defeated Sri Lanka by 59 runs using the DLS method and made a winning start.


Meanwhile, Pakistan lost its first match to Bangladesh by 7 wickets. This means both teams will be playing their second match today. India will aim for a second consecutive win by defeating Pakistan, while Pakistan will aim to register its first victory by beating India.


These teams last met in Dubai during the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, where India secured a 6-wicket win.


Today’s match in the Women’s World Cup is expected to be very exciting. Supporters have also started showing interest in whether players from India and Pakistan will shake hands or not.


A few days ago, during the Men’s Asia Cup, there was a major controversy between Indian and Pakistani players. From not shaking hands to accusations between players, the India-Pakistan match became highly controversial.
