KATHMANDU, August 25: Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) have exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding for partnership between regulators of accountancy professions of both countries.
ICAN President Prakash J Thapa and ICAI President Nilesh S Vikamsey signed the agreement in New Delhi on Thursday during the five-day state visit of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to India.

“The duo exchanged the agreement amid a ceremony held at the Hyderabad House, New Delhi, in the presence of prime ministers of both countries,” said Binod Neupane, the acting executive director of ICAN.
He further added that the MoU was about cooperation between the two institutions for technical support, knowledge sharing and professional development of chartered accountants, and other issues related to the accountancy professions of the two countries.
