KATHMANDU, Jan 30: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) is hosting 'Conference on Accounting Profession and Way Forward' in Kathmandu on Thursday, on the occasion of its 22nd anniversary.
Organizing a press meet on Tuesday, ICAN's President Jagannath Upadhyay (Niraula) said that the conference aims at discussing latest developments, practices and trends in the accounting profession.
ICAN is an autonomous body to regulate accountancy profession in Nepal.

The conference will bring together over 250 participants, including members of the ICAN, government officials, corporate executives, remittance business executives, regulators and other stakeholders, according to the Niraula.
“The conference will feature four sessions where the latest trend and challenges of accountancy profession will be discussed to enhance the audit quality,” said Niraula, adding:
“Eminent personalities and experts having vast professional background, knowledge of the subject and exposure in the related field will present and comment on technical papers and provide the participants with a unique learning opportunity.”
The conference will feature sessions on enhancing quality of the audit to meet the expectation of stakeholders, how blockchain is revolutionizing banking and financial markets, corporate governance reporting and role of professional accountant, and experience sharing on implementation of Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS), among others, according to the organizers.
Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada is scheduled to address the ceremony being organized on Thursday to celebrate 22nd ICAN Anniversary.
