Hospital's negligence claims life of new mother

CHITWAN, Feb 11: Tension ran high after the demise of a woman who delivered a baby  at Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan on Saturday. 


The relatives of the woman staged demonstration claiming that she died due to negligence of of the hospital.

Superintendent of Police Dipak Thapa said that police personnel have been mobilized in view of possible agitations. 


Bimala Shrestha, 34, of 11 Kilo in Gorkha district was admitted to the hospital on February 8 for delivery, the police said. It is said that Shrestha gave birth to a baby throughcesarean section on Friday morning. 


The relatives of the victim said that Shrestha's surgery was performed again in the evening on Friday after her health turned worse from the afternoon. 


Bimala passed away on Friday night after excessive bleeding due to 'negligence' on the part of the medicos, allege the relatives. RSS
