KATHMANDU, June 4: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), originally scheduled for 1 pm on Wednesday, was first postponed to 3:15 pm but could not convene at the rescheduled time either. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the meeting has now been postponed until 1 pm on Thursday.

The main opposition party, CPN (Maoist Center), along with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), CPN (Unified Socialist), and other parties, have continued to demand the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak before allowing the parliamentary session to proceed.

As a result, the House meeting has been repeatedly postponed. Minister Lekhak has been accused of involvement in the ‘Visit Visa Scandal’.

Despite several rounds of talks between the ruling and opposition parties, no agreement has been reached. While the ruling coalition claims the visa issue concerns lower-level employees, opposition parties insist that a fair investigation is only possible if the Home Minister resigns.
