Homeless man dies of heat stroke

MAHOTTARI, June 27: A homeless man died of heat stroke at Matihani rural municipality of Mahottari district last evening.

The unidentified person of an estimated 50 years of age died of excessive heat at a bazaar in Matihani – 4, said Sub Inspector Mahendra Sah.

The person is learnt to have been suffering from short sightedness. He was spotted in the Matihani bazaar a few days ago, and was seen begging and spending nights under open sky.

With no rains for the past few days, temperatures have soared in Mahottari. A carnival taking place at the marketplace may have prevented the man from seeking a cooler location. His body has been taken to District Hospital Jaleshwor for an autopsy. RSS
