KATHMANDU, March 22: Home Secretary Dr Gobinda Kusum and Inspector General of Police Ramesh Chand Thakuri on Sunday went to Supreme Court to submit their written statement on a contempt of court case. They claimed that they did not intend to lie before the court about arrest of Nandu Giri and Dev Prakash Shah, both the activists of Maoist Victims Association but they were not informed about the arrest from their lower units until the court’s enquiry. Supreme Court had issued search warrant for the arrested duo and found them in Pyuthan police custody despite the statement of IGP and Home Secretary that police have not arrested Giri and Shah. SC had ordered both the top law enforcement officials to appear before the court personally with written statement within seven days.
