IGP Thapa retires, Khapung to assume command from Thursday

At a special ceremony organized at the Nepal Police Headquarters on Wednesday, newly-appointed IGP Chandrakuber Khapung bid farewell to the outgoing IGP and the two AIGs.

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deepak Thapa has retired from service following the completion of his 30-year tenure. Along with Thapa, Additional Inspectors General (AIGs) Tek Bahadur Tamang and Sudip Giri have also retired today.



At a special ceremony organized at the Nepal Police Headquarters on Wednesday, newly-appointed IGP Chandrakuber Khapung bid farewell to the outgoing IGP and the two AIGs. In a separate event, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak also extended a farewell to Thapa on the same day.

Khapung, who was recently appointed as the 32nd IGP of Nepal Police, will officially assume command of Nepal Police from Thursday.
