Home ministry seeks cooperation

KATHMANDU, March 31: Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has urged all concerned to participate in the voter registration and citizenship distribution process.



Issuing a press statement on Sunday, the ministry said all district administration offices have already been directed to deploy mobile teams for distribution of citizenship certificates. [break]



Earlier, four major political forces had agreed to provide citizenship certificates by descent to the children of those receiving citizenship by birth. Citizenship certificate is a must for registering names in the voter list.



The home ministry´s statement comes at a time when various disgruntled parties, including the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist, have vowed to disrupt the voter registration process.
