KATHMANDU, Oct 3: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has directed authorities to strengthen disaster management, saying effective response is essential to build public trust at a time when the nation’s security situation remains sensitive.
Speaking at a virtual monsoon-related disaster dialogue on Thursday, Aryal issued the directive against the backdrop of forecasts predicting moderate to very heavy rainfall in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces from October 3 to 6. He underlined that disaster management efforts must also ensure good governance and the uninterrupted delivery of public services.
