HLPC calls on agitating parties for unconditional poll talks

KATHMANDU, July 28: The High Level Political Committee held a meeting Sunday in New Baneshwor and called on the agitating parties including the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist to take part in talks without conditions for their participation in the Constituent Assembly elections scheduled for November 19 later this year.



The meeting condemned the recent attack on a Madhesi People’s Right Forum Nepal leader in Mahottari and violent activities reported in some other districts meant to disrupt the forthcoming CA polls, UCPN (Maoist) leader Narayankaji Shrestha said after the meeting that ended at noon. [break]



According to Shrestha, leaders in the meeting renewed their resolve that the CA elections on the scheduled date will be held at any cost. At today’s meeting, the eight-member taskforce earlier formed to suggest on the delineation of constituencies verbally reported to the HPLC. The leader said they would take decision in that regard after holding further discussion.
