Sunil Subedi´s hat-trick helped the club defeat Adarsha Youth Club 3-1. Subedi scored in the 50th, 76th and 81st minutes while his opponent team´s Sujan Gurung scored a consolation goal in the 69th minute. Subedi was declared man of the match.
The Himalayan Sherpa Club entered the semifinals with the victory in the championship that has participation from eight teams from around the nation.
The winners of the championship will receive Rs 50,000 while the runners-up will get Rs 30,000.
Army sports kick off
KATHMANDU, Nov 23: Hari Kumar Rimal kept behind Rajendra Bhandari in men´s 1,500 meters race to secure first spot in the CoAS Trophy Sports Championship that kicked off on Monday at the Army Headquarters, Kathmandu. Letter Singh Khatri of Mid-western Division finished third.

In men´s 100m sprint, Dashiram Chaudhari of Eastern Division HQ, Tikaram Chaudhary of Central Division HQ and Gam Bahadur Shrestha of Valley Division HQ finished first, second and third, respectively.
In women´s 100m sprint, Shanti Acharya, Sujata Pradhan and Rupa Khadka booked the top three spots. Earlier, Army Chief Chhatra Man Singh Gurung inaugurated the championship.
Aid for Manju
KATHMANDU, Nov 23: Taekwondo player Manju Tuladhar who is suffering from kidney failure received financial support of Rs 262,180 from a committee formed to raise funds for her treatment.
Nepal Taekwondo Association´s Vice Chairman Kiran Baidya handed over the amount to Manju amidst a function on Monday.
