HETAUDA, Dec 20: Chairman of the Industry Management Committee, Narendra Bhandari, has announced that Hetauda Cement Industry will restart cement production from December 28, with equipment repairs expected to be completed by December 25.
“The repair work of the industry’s equipment, including the clinker machine, is nearing completion,” said Chairman Bhandari, “We initially anticipated completing the repairs by Tihar and resuming production immediately after, but delays in the process extended the timeline.”
Hetauda Cement Industry resumes production
The industry halted cement production on October 1, citing the need for equipment repairs. Chairman Bhandari said that the delay occurred as specialized workers had to be brought in from India to handle the repairs.
The industry currently has approximately 400 metric tons of coal in stock, sufficient for production, and has initiated the process of procuring additional coal to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Despite financial challenges earlier this year, the industry resumed production in the first week of September and has since produced 65,000 bags of cement. Established in Lamsure, Hetauda in 1976, the industry began cement production in 1986 and remains a significant contributor to Nepal’s cement supply.
