According to senior technical officer of the factory Tej Bahadur Godar, production has resumed after necessary repairs in the kiln machine. Godar also informed the repair was delayed due to Dashain holidays. [break]
“Bricks placed on the kiln need to be replaced every three months. But we were compelled to replace the bricks every three months,” Godar informed.
Officials at the factory has been facing problems are the machines have used in the factory have worn out. In the previous fiscal year as well, production had been halted for two months to install Reverse Air Bag House (RABH)--a dust controlling technology. The technology was adopted in order to permanently free the local people around the factory from pollution.
Data shows that the factory was also unable to meet its production target in the previous fiscal year. Though the factory had targeted to produce 3.2 million sacks of cement, it had produced only 2 million sacks.
However, the factory claims that despite halting production for three weeks, it has stocks of 100,000 sacks of cement and clinkers each.
