These thoughts are what people go through which leads them to kill themselves. But is giving up on your life really the solution to everything? Or is there another way out?
It is always better to take care of yourself when things get worse. If you are going through hard times you can use these tips further to unwind yourselves. We may use it to help de-stress ourselves but it may not work for everyone.
Breaking stigma a must
REFLECTING ON POSITIVES
At times we feel that everything is a mess, we have a bad day and just when we thought that nothing could go worse, and things fall apart. But we mostly forget to recall the positive things that happened over the day. Reflecting on positive aspects and things that we are grateful for gives us a sense of motivation to wake up for the other day. We can make a list of things that make us happy and reminiscing on our dreams and aspirations that may help us to move forward in life.
WRITE TO EXPRESS
Writing can be the best stress reliever for someone who wants to vent their feelings. Writing down all your thoughts, things that disappoint you or hope to do in upcoming days can help you feel like a weight off your chest have been lifted as some people have a habit of keeping things bottled up in their hearts. Don’t try to connect words just for forming sentences, instead write to express yourself.
Dr. Pradeep Pandey, Neuropsychiatrist, shares that there are ways to reduce the mental stress and also give up on suicidal thoughts. He has suggested two measures that you may follow:
MEDITATION
Dr. Pradeep says that one of the best ways of relaxation and reducing mental stress would be to meditate. This helps a person to focus on themselves for a while, calm their minds and it can help people escape suicidal ideation. It also helps in reducing fear, negative thoughts and dealing with emotions. People are at a vulnerable condition while going through mental stress and are mostly unaware about it because it is better to meditate and do yoga on a regular basis as there are other health benefits as well.
SHARING WITH A LOVED ONE
It is better to share things with your loved ones and people you are close to if there is anything bothering you and if you feel that suicidal thoughts have been triggering you. A person who has a better mental state can give you directions and help you analyze things that you are having problem to deal with. Sharing with others help you get a different perception of your problems and will also help you to make rational decisions rather than jump into negative conclusions.
