KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds as the monsoon low-pressure line is situated slightly north of its average position.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), the weather is partly to mostly cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is occurring in some areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as at one or two places in the remaining provinces.

On Tuesday afternoon, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy nationwide, with light to moderate rain and thundershowers expected in some areas of all provinces, according to DHM predictions.

Heavy rain is possible in a few areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and at one or two places in the other provinces.

On Tuesday night, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country, with a likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at a few places in the remaining provinces, according to the DHM.

The DHM has issued a bulletin indicating the possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
