KATHMANDU, Sept 1: After Justice Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada said that it would not be possible to conduct a hearing today, the hearing on a petition filed against the Chief Minister (CM) of Koshi Province has been postponed until further notice.

The hearing on this writ petition was scheduled for Friday at the division bench of Justices Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada and Sushma Lata Mathema. 

According to senior advocate Tikaram Bhattarai, who was present in the court, Justice Khatiwada said that he could not proceed with the hearing on the writ petition as he had given an interim order in the first hearing.

On August 21, Koshi CM Uddhav Thapa got the vote of confidence by obtaining the vote from Israial Mansuri, who is the acting speaker of Koshi Provincial Assembly. Rewati Raman Bhandari, chief whip of the UML parliamentary party, said that the writ petition was filed at the Supreme Court with the claim that the constitutional provision has been violated while taking the vote of confidence.
