Government urges one and all to support health workers contributing to the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic
KATHMANDU, May 28: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has expressed concern over the report of physical assault on the health workers in Bheri Hospital by relatives of COVID-19 patients on Thursday.
After a COVID-19 patient died while undergoing treatment, relatives of the deceased tried to kill the health workers at Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj.
“It is a shame that health workers, working day and night risking their own and their families’ lives, are being attacked and physically assaulted,” reads a press statement issued by the health ministry, “Let’s create an environment where these people can freely carry out their duties.”
The health ministry has also urged the authorities concerned to take serious action against those engaged in illegal and inhumane activities against the health workers on duty.
