KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Hard Rock Café Kathmandu celebrated its first anniversary at Sherpa Mall, Durbar Marg, on November 4. The celebration started with the red carpet event for special guests and Lakhe Dance. Then, the program continued with the tradition of smashing the guitar. The event was then carried on by live musical performances by the band ‘Elements’ and Jindabaad. The event concluded with a DJ session. Bernd Conrad, Director of the Operations Asia Pacific North, Malcolm Chao, Area Vice President of Asia Pacific Region, Hard Rock, Cristina Lopes, Director of Sales & Marketing Franchise Cafes, Hard Rock International, Cristina Lopes, Director of Sales & Marketing Franchise Cafes, Hard Rock International and Sanjib Tuladhar, owner of the café also attended the event.

According to a statement issued by the cafe, the place has some Nepali essence that blends the heritage of the city of Kathmandu and the vibe of the Hard Rock brand with spacious seating, a state-of-the-art live venue, open-air rooftop deck, merchandise Rock Shop, and rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia from Hard Rock’s iconic collection, including Nepal’s legendary crop of home-grown music talent.

“We are very happy to celebrate our 1st anniversary in Kathmandu. We impact the hospitality industry and brand standards positively. We bring the spirit and philosophy of the brand to a country rich in musical and food traditions by presenting a modern vision of a remarkable restaurant,” the statement quotes Anibal Fernandez, Vice President of Franchise Operations at Hard Rock International as saying.

Hard Rock Café features a US-inspired menu and hand-crafted cocktails along with memorabilia from some of the music industry’s biggest names, amongst them Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Metallica, the Rolling Stones, and Michael Jackson.

It is situated on the first and top floor of the building, the restaurant can take up to 260 covers indoors and it also has an outdoor terrace. It added that Hard Rock Cafe Kathmandu's highlight of the menu is the burgers for which Hard Rock is famous.

One of the stars of the menu `is the baby back pork ribs, specifically imported from Denmark for Hard Rock Cafe Kathmandu. 750g of ribs, seasoned with a signature spice blend, then glazed with house-made barbecue sauce and grilled to perfection, served with seasoned fries, coleslaw, and ranch-style beans.

Along with a selection of bottled beers and wines, there is a range of ‘boozy milkshakes and signature cocktails including Hurricane – a 1940s New Orleans classic comprised of white rum, a blend of orange, mango, pineapple juice, and grenadine, finished with a float dark rum and amaretto.
