H1N1 helpdesk in Banke

BANKE, June 30: A helpdesk for screening pandemic H1N1 virus has been set up at Jamunaha customs in Banke district on Tuesday.



The helpdesk where two health professionals have been posted will be operational from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, according to Ram Bahadur Chand of District Public Health Office. The helpdesk will pay special attention to tourists coming into Nepal via New Delhi and Chennai.



In case someone is suspected of carrying the virus, he/she will be quarantined at the isolation ward at Bheri Zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj and the person´s blood sample will be sent to Kathmandu for tests.



The initiative was taken after the flu was detected in three individuals in Kathmandu this week.
