KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Ex-king Gyanendra Shah and his wife Komal boarded Jet Airways flight to New Delhi Wednesday. The plane that was to leave at 3.45 p.m. got delayed as the former royals reached the airport a little after 4 p.m.This is the former royal couple´s first foreign visit after they left the Narayanhiti Palace last year.
The Shah couple is traveling to the Indian capital to attend a wedding ceremony in the family of Indian politician and ex-royal Dr Karan Singh. Shahs have family relations with Dr Singh.
The newspaper also said that the ex-king´s request for diplomatic passport was refused by the government.
