JANAKPUR, March 12: The district-level examinations of Grade VIII have been affected in Dhanusha district after the Ministry of Education failed to appoint a District Education Officer (DEO).

With no DEO, the exams have been put off in the district.

The exams of grade one through nine started on Thursday. But the exams of the eighth grade could not be conducted as the District Education Office has to set the questions papers.

The government has not sent a DEO to the district after its former DEO retired on February 15.
