KATHMANDU, June 6: The government has withdrawn its earlier decision to enforce two-day a week public holiday beginning June 15.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday took a decision to this effect amidst widespread criticisms that the decision was not practical and service seekers were forced to face additional hassles, according to a cabinet minister.

With the new decision, there will be a public holiday only on Saturday from June 15. The government had enforced two-day a week public holiday on May 15 in order to reduce fuel consumption amid fast depleting foreign currency reserves.
