KATHMANDU, April 9: The government on Tuesday unveiled final tranche of Rs 404.82 billion budget for the current fiscal year that covers three remaining months.
Unveiling the budget at National Planning Commission in Singhadurbar, Finance Minister Shankar Koirala announced that the government had allocated Rs 14 billion for fresh Constituent Assembly election which includes Rs 6 billion for Election Commission and Rs 8 billion for security purposes of the election. [break]The government has also decided to add one more industrial region.
The government has allocated Rs 279.01 billion for recurrent expenditure, Rs 66.13 billion for capital expenditure and Rs 59.67 billion for financial management purpose.
This is the third time within the year that the government is announcing budgetary allocations through ordinance as the political parties have failed to forge consensus on an annual budget.
Earlier, President Ram Baran Yadav approved three ordinances related to budget—Appropriation Ordinance 2069, Financial Ordinance 2069 and Ordinance to mobilize national debt.
