According to Minister for Physical Planning and Construction Hridayesh Tripathi, the cabinet has decided to transfer Umakant Jha from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to the Ministry of Industry while Secretary at the Ministry of Industry Shankar Koirala has been transferred to the Election Commission (EC).[break]
Likewise, EC Secretary Kishor Thapa has been named Secretary at the Ministry of Education while Education Secretary Shankar Prasad Pandey has been given responsibility for the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
Similarly, Shital Babu Regmi, an expert on water resources, has been transferred to the Ministry of Local Development from the Water and Energy Commission. Secretary at the Ministry of Local Development Sushil Ghimire has been named Secretary at the Office of the Auditor General. Secretary at the National Information Commission Nathu Chaudhary has been given responsibility for the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. Regional Administrator Bishnu Prakash Pandit has been named Secretary at the Water and Energy Commission while another regional administrator, Suresh Man Shrestha, has been designated Secretary at the National Information Commission.
In yet another decision, the cabinet meeting appointed Dr Jiwanath Dhital as Chairman of Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) for two years, Upendra Sharma as Chairman of Citizens Fund and Binaya Kumar Karna as Chairman of Management Committee of the Rural Housing Scheme.
Similarly, the government decided to recommend to the president to appoint Hari Kumar Shrestha as Nepali envoy to Bangladesh.
The cabinet meeting also endorsed the agreement reached between the Peace Ministry and Samyukta Janatantarik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Pawan Faction).
