Govt to table inclusive bill in parliament

KATHMANDU, Feb 14: The cabinet meeting endorsed the Inclusive Bill and decided to table it in parliament on Tuesday.



The bill on inclusion proposes 48 percent seats under reservation quota, up from the existing 45 percent, for candidates representing various ethnic groups while recruiting the work force for government services. [break]



Earlier, nearly half a dozen secretaries had been opposing the bill and following strong objection from government secretaries, some provisions had been removed from the bill.



The cabinet in today´s meet also decided to send a team to New Delhi led by Energy Minister Posta Bahadur Bogati for Nepal-India Energy meet.



"Posta Bahadur Bogati will lead the Nepali team to Nepal-India Energy meet," said Minister for Physical Planning and Works, Hridayesh Tripathi after the meeting.
